This blog has been created to follow our family’s journey into healing. Our husband and Daddy, Corey, died suddenly June 1, 2008 after a courageous and valiant fight with acute lymphocytic leukemia. Even though Corey was diagnosed in Oct. 07, death was never an option for him nor for us. Our lives have been turned upside down. Feel free to follow us on this journey with our new family unit, Mom Kara, sons Teagan and Landon, and faithful canine Ozzy. With our co-captain leading us from above, we can’t go wrong. Come see our journey into healing . . .

Just checking to see if anything is new. My prayers were really with you this week as you weathered your wedding anniversary.
Very cute pics of the boys on this homepage, absolutely adorable!
Kara,
I have been following CaringBridge site as you update it and enjoying everything you post.
Love your pictures they are great.
Keep healing and writing.
Fondly,
Wendy O from Aspirus OCU unit.
Kara,
My family and I have followed you and Corey through this journey since the beginning. I know that I am, at best, an old acquaintence and classmate of Corey’s, and yet because of this amazing technology, I feel very close to your family. I guess the point I am attempting to make is that you are thought of and prayed for often by people you barely know. Thank you for continuing to keep everyone connected, it is a great blessing. Take care of yourself, along with those boys!
Happy Belated Birthday, Kara! That was a beautiful sunrise.
Sorry to hear Landon is still sick. I’ll say a prayer for him.
Did the tooth fairy find Teagan? I’m glad you’re in a Christian based grief group; I’m sure it will help. We had 6-8 inches of rain here. We had 8 inches of water in the basement. It’s slowly drying out(carpet). We used the shop vac and fans. It’s not quite as stinky as it was. We had to get our water heater fixed; it got flooded out. We also had to get a leak under the kitchen sink fixed. So we’re in a better mood now that we have hot water again and the basement is drying out. Quite a few people had water in their basements. You were in the minority if you didn’t. Well, that’s all my blabbing for now.
Love, Aunt Janet
I love reading all the comments from Kara’s friends. Feels like the old days when all you girls were “hanging around” the house! And for her new friends, it’s nice getting to know you better through these comments. It’s wonderful to know Kara has the support of close friends who feel like family. It’s been fun reading Kara’s journals about our vacation. I love re-living the entire week! The pictures don’t do it justice as it was beautiful and fun and exciting all at the same time!
Looking forward to the next day’s comments! Keep them coming!
